So the saga continues. In round one we saw an even break Rachel beat out Robin and Barney beat out Chandler. So Friends 1- HIMYM 1, let's see where part two of this series takes us.

Next up is Ross vs Ted. Ross Gellar was an all around nice guy, kind of a shlub but still a nice guy. Ross found his way into all of our hearts during the infamous "Prom Video" episode where he was going to take a stood up Rachel to her senior prom. His "be cool" pep talk to himself on the stairs was one of the cutest things I had ever seen. Of course, Ross' heart was broken when her prom date did show up late at the last minute. He was after all, her lobster. Even through all his weddings and mishaps, Ross's heart always belonged to Rachel. Ted on the other hand, has spent the entire series looking for his Rachel. Ted is a romantic, like Ross and kind of a schlub too. Ted is much more fun when he is drunk or losing it. Which is another thing he has in common with Ross. Of course the whole series is told from Ted's point of view, making him the central character of the show. Ross was just part of the ensemble. But Ross, is part of one of my favorite tv couples of all time, so Ross gets this one.

Back to the girls on the shows, Monica/Phoebe vs Lily. Since we have one less character on HIMYM then Friends, Lily will be trying to be defeat both Monica and Phoebe. Monica was a former fat kid, OCD control freak of the group. She was often the voice of reason and counseled most of the group on their love life and other problems. This is very similar to Lily, who is always counseling Ted, Robin and Barney on their love lives. Lily also has some clean issues as was seen in the episode where her and Marshall fight over washing dishes immediately after he uses them. 

Phoebe on the other hand was the quirky friend. Phoebe almost lived in another universe which is not like Lily. But I do see some similarities between them. Lily is environmentally conscious and really supports Marshall's dream of being an enivormentalist lawyer, even though it might not bring in a huge salary. Phoebe was the same way about her husband who actually turned his back on the family fortune to be a piano player. This is another tough call. Monica was always one of the most grating characters on television. Whereas Phoebe was very loveable and fun. But since they are in this one together, it definitley has to go to my girl Lily. I love Lily and was saddened by the episodes where they went out of character (in my mind) and had her breakup with Marshall to go to San Francisco. That was her one flaw and luckily that storyline worked itself out rather quickly. Lily by a landslide. 

Next week we are in to round three, the final round, Marshall vs Joey. This race may be too close to call. Stay tuned.
