Robin Scherbatsky, I am not going to lie, she is my least favorite character of the group. I don't know exactly what it is about Robin I don't like, maybe the writers try to make her unlikeable so that we quit mourning the fact that she is not the mother. But Robin in general has been downright depressing this season.

First she falls for her therapist, how can that be healthy? Then she sleeps with Barney, thinks she preggers and finds out she can't ever have kids. This leads to depressing Robin with sad hair and clothes. She hasn't looked cute in a while. Barney and Ted have both declared their love for her this season and still she remains depressed. What do these two guys see in her anyways?

I came across a rerun today, one of the early episodes from season 1. Lily and Robin are starting to become friends and spend the night out on the town. Lily gets bummed because all the guys are hitting on Robin and not her. Even though she is engaged to Marshall already, she still feels like she lost her groove. Robin back then was funny and cute, it's easy to see why guys would be hitting on like crazy. She was actually fun too.

Robin now is such a debbie downer, she needs to lighten up a bit to end this season. It's hard to root for a character that gets on your nerves, but I would like her to turn things around. Jealous Robin can be fun, so maybe she should start pining for Barney again now that he has a new love interest. I feel like it's hard to know what to do with her character anymore, however I do love when she is so relentlessly mean to Patrice. I hope that she moves in with her, that could lead to endless comedic possibilities. Just imagining Patrice trying to hang out with the gang at McClaren's brings a smile to my face. Her new living situation could be the change that this character needs most and maybe even a new love interest. 

The back and forth between Ted, Robin and Barney feels so tired. Perhaps, it's time for Robin to focus solely on her career. From our glimpses into the future it seems like that is where Robin is ultimately headed, a very famous, well respected journalist. Most likely Robin is still single in this future too, that leaves her free to travel the world without any strings attached. So let's hope that when this show returns from hiatus we get "Fun Robin" back instead of this Debbie Downer that seems to have taken over her body.
